Renovating the Historic Miami Senior High School

Miami’s first high school has been renovated and restored to its original splendor, expanded with new additions and upgraded with state-of-the-art instructional technology.
Miami Senior High School opened in its current location in 1928 in the original building designed by Richard Kiehnel, of the famed architecture firm Kiehnel and Elliot. The school is listed on the United States National Register of Historic Places.
We at MCM are so proud to have been involved in this unbelievable project, along with our friends at Zyscovich Architects.
"Promise made, promise kept! I am so proud for today's and yesterday's Stingarees!" said Miami-Dade Superintendent of Schools Alberto Carvalho at the school's recent dedication ceremony. "We accomplished this incredible restoration and expansion at close to half the initial cost estimate!"
Thank you to our incredible MCM Team, Miami-Dade Public Schools, all of our partners in this landmark project, and most importantly, Miami Senior High's Stingarees for their unyielding support!
