Construction Begins at the National Guard’s Miramar Readiness Center

Construction at the Florida Army Reserve’s new Readiness Center in Miramar is officially underway!

The 104,000-square-foot facility, designed for the National Guard, will be located on the Snake Creek Training Site in Southern Broward County. The four units that will call the Miramar Readiness Center their new home are three units from the 1st Battalion, 124th Infantry Regiment (Headquarters and Headquarters Company, Charlie Company and the Forward Support Company) and the 13th Army Band.

When completed, the two-story building will include features like a forty-foot high assembly hall designed to accommodate the entire battalion, storage spaces, platoon areas and offices. The design will also be highly energy efficient and meet the (LEED) Silver certification rating.

The MCM Project Team is currently focused on the site, civil and underground work in preparation for the foundations of the new facility to begin later this month.

The project’s estimated completion date is June 15, 2015.
