Westland Hialeah Sr. High School was a $51 million tilt-up project. A 72-foot wide panel was erected to connect the two (2) main classroom buildings, creating a beautiful open gallery and giving the facility a signature entrance feature. This panel set the world record for the widest spandrel panel ever erected in tilt-up construction.
The GSA Trade Shops was Miami-Dade County’s first LEED Certified building; and also was MCM's first LEED Silver Certified Project. One of the many sustainable practices utilized to attain this prestigious "Green" award produced a 95% recycling of all demolition materials, far exceeding the typically standard 75% recovery.
Design-Build-Finance project which allowed the FDOT to award the project, although public funding is not scheduled to become available for a number of years. Private-Public Partnerships such as this one are proving to be an efficient model to accelerate infrastructure projects.
